What To Expect In Your Free Consultation
If you’ve never needed to talk to an attorney before, it can be intimidating to reach out to people about your legal issue. You have to tell people you don’t really know difficult things about a particular event happening in your life, and trust in them to solve the problem.
When people call our firm, in many instances they have extremely complex fact patterns that require a deeper discussion to determine if they actually have a claim. That’s why we set aside time to schedule a free consultation to learn more about what is actually happening. Our goal in this consultation is to help you better understand your specific situation, and determine how we can help, if possible.
In the event we are the right law firm for your case, we will discuss the specific fees that will be connected with our representation so you can decide if you’d like to retain our services. If we’re not the right firm for your case, we may be able to provide you with recommendations for other lawyers who might be a better fit. If you do not need an attorney, we can provide you with an overview of the steps that you can take on your own to handle the specific concerns that you may have about the matter.
What Do I Need To Bring?
First and foremost, bring all documents that you have related to the dispute. For estate litigation issues, bring the estate planning documents, probate filings and anything else you feel is necessary. For business litigation, bring any of the contracts connected with the dispute, incorporation papers and all other items at the center of the litigation. If we need additional information, we will provide you with the specific details about what will be most helpful to bring with you when you schedule the appointment.
What If We Cannot Take Your Case?
We do not take on every case. There are just going to be circumstances where we may not be the right fit for the case. Regardless of the situation, if we know of other law firms that are right for the matter, we will provide you with their contact information so you can discuss the case with them.
If You Cannot Make Your Scheduled Consultation
We offer free consultations to clients, and set aside the time that we are scheduled to meet so that you are able to meet directly with one of our experienced lawyers. In the event that you cannot make your appointment, we request that you let us know as soon as possible so we can make that time available to others. We are more than happy to reschedule you for a time that is convenient for you with advance notice. Failing to cancel your appointment ahead of time, or no-showing, means that we will not offer a free consultation to you should you attempt to schedule a new appointment.
